About us...

Chabad of Centrepointe is an outreach Center dedicated to bringing the warmth and love of Judaism to all Jews regardless of religious affiliation or background.

Chabad of Centrepointe was established by Rabbi Chaim and Bassy Mendelsohn to bring more Jewish awareness and love of fellow man to the city of Ottawa.  With many years of volunteering & outreach experience in Ottawa, Montreal, California, New York, Atlanta, Michigan, New Jersey, France, Australia and Russia, Rabbi and Mrs. Mendelsohn opened the doors of their home to the community.  They have made an impact on hundreds of people who have already joined them for a traditional Sabbath or holiday meal, a Torah study class, a party celebrating the Jewish holidays or an exciting summer camp for young children.

Through their many innovative activities, programs and classes, they give men, women and children, young and old the opportunity to understand their unique Jewish Heritage and celebrate the various Jewish themes and festivals with pride. 

Chabad of Centrepointe also offers social and humanitarian aid to all people regardless of race, colour and creed.  Our staff visits hospitals and senior citizens on a regular basis to bring happiness and hope into their lives.  Our events for students and teens leave a long lasting impression on them, keeping them focused on getting good grades and doing the right thing.  Many of the teens develop personal relationship with Chabad of Centrepointe and are regularly counseled by our staff.

In addition, Chabad is dedicated to bringing Jewish awareness to Parliament Hill.  The impact that their programs leave on the parliamentarians and staffers amidst their hectic day is truly remarkable.  These events are also open to the public giving our community an opportunity to interact with the members of parliament. 

Chabad's goal is to bring more goodness and kindness into Ottawa and to make this world a brighter, happier and more united place for all.
